Departure & Return

All canal boat journeys start and end in Motala. Before departure, you will receive an introduction to the boat, navigation and lock procedures. Routes are typically planned for one-week rentals.

Navigation & Safety

Before departure, you will receive practical guidance on boat handling, navigation and lock procedures. No previous canal boating experience is required.

 

Parking & Arrival

Motala is the starting point for all routes and can be reached by car, train or bus. Parking options are available near the departure marina.

 

Optional Extras

Additional services may be available to make your stay more comfortable, such as bedding, towels, final cleaning, bicycles and parking. Availability may vary depending on the boat and booking.

Boats are generally rented on a weekly basis, with shorter options sometimes available depending on availability and season.

Practical Information

All routes start and end in Motala and are usually booked on a weekly basis. The Green Route combines Göta Kanal with Kinda Canal, the Blue Route follows the eastern part of Göta Kanal towards Söderköping, and the Red Route goes towards Sjötorp and includes crossing Lake Vättern.
